The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), who are engaged in research on malaria vaccine, have selected city-based Bharat Biotech for inclusion in the project.
The malaria vaccine initiative team's director, Dr. Regina Rabinovich, and Dr. Krishna Ella of Bharat Biotech said that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation had alloted an amount of $ 50 million for research on malaria vaccine, according to a pressnote issued here on Saturday.
The deal would be finalised in the next 3 to 6 months, they stated, and added that the WHO was also part of the initiative. The foundation had identified India, Australia and USA for carrying out the research, the pressnoted added. |
