Bharat Biotech has developed a new drug for treating patients suffering from heart attack. The drug – Recombinant Streptokinase – will be rolled out to market in September, the company’s founder director Suchitra Ella said. The Drug Controller General of India has granted commercial licence to the company for manufacturing and marketing the product, she said.

With this, Bharat Biotech becomes the first company in the country and second in the world to manufacture the product. “All these days, the products of similar nature are being imported by various companies and marketed in India. Bharat’s product will also competitively priced vis-à-vis the imported products,” she said.
