HYDERABAD, Feb. 26: BHARAT Biotech, the Hyderabad-based manufacturer of Hepatitis B vaccine on Wednesday made an offer to supply the State Government with one-month requirement of the vaccine 'gratis' as a goodwill gesture.
The company said it was ready to meet any requirement of the State Government with stocks of the vaccine that are pre-tested by the Central Drugs Laboratory, Kasauli.
Bharat Biotech made this offer while giving their version of the reported decisions of the floor leaders of political parties in the State Assembly to ask the Government to source the vaccine from Shanta Biotechnics, a competitor as a temporary move to ensure that the Melinda and Bill Gates-funded Hepatitis B programme was not affected.
In a statement, the company further said as far as price was concerned, it had quoted the lowest, far lower than its competitor. The High Court had also opined that Bharat Biotech's bid should be considered, especially in view of the price quoted by it, the statement said. |
