Hyderabad: Bharat Biotech International Ltd has been awarded Dr Sir M Visveswarya Industrial Award for Best Technology Effort (biotechnology). The company has bagged the award, instituted by the All India Manufacturers' Organisation (AIMO), for its Himax Technology.

"It was Himax technology that paved the way for Bharat Biotech launching its flagship product Revac-B at such an affordable price," the company's founder director Suchitra Ella said in a statement. Himax Technology is an innovative process of purification of Hepatitis B surface protein from recombinant yeast in manufacture of Hepatitis B vaccine.
