How Tetanus infection can be controlled?
Neonatal tetanus is readily preventable through immunization and tetanus containing vaccines, which are included in the childhood immunization programs all over the world. WHO strongly recommends tetanus vaccination to all pregnant women to control maternal tetanus.
What is the immunization schedule for Tetanus immunization?
For primary immunization 3 doses of tetanus toxoid are recommended followed by a booster at every 10 years. For pregnant women 3 doses of tetanus toxoid are recommended during 1 st pregnancy and 2 doses during subsequent pregnancies.
