REGEN-D™ 60 for First & Second degree Burns
The burned area should be cooled by running cold water for 10 minutes to stop the burning process, this prevents or reduces the swelling.
- After the burn area is cooled, apply a clean, dry gauze pad to the burn area
- Once the skin settles in terms of its appearance and redness, REGEN-D™ 60 gel can to be applied as a thin film on the entire burn area with a sterile cotton swab or an applicator
- Burn area should be monitored for infections and if any infections are found, they should be treated by oral antibiotics as suitable based on culture and sensitivity pattern.
- The area should be covered after application of REGEN-D™ 60 gel
- Adjunct therapies for burns management should be carried out
REGEN-D™ 60 for Donor Site Skin Grafts
- REGEN-D™ 60 gel should to be applied only after bleeding stops at the Donor Site Skin Grafts
- After hemostatsis at the wound site, the gel should be applied on the raw donor area
- Apply as a thin film over the entire donor area
- Donor area should then be covered with a sterile non-adherent dressing
- Proper care should be taken to prevent the dressings from sticking to the wound area with non-adhesive dressings to subsidize pain
- The dressing should be maintained for at least 10-12 hrs after the application
- For subsequent application, REGEN-D™ 60 should be applied on the inert mesh (poly propylene)
- The same procedure has to be followed once every two days till the wound heals
Contraindications, Adverse Effects and Precautions
REGEN-D™ 60 is well tolerated. However the product should not administered to individuals known to be hypersensitive to any of the components of the product. REGEN-D™ 60 has to be used cautiously, if patient is on immunosuppressant therapy. REGEN-D™ 60 has proven low reactogenicity. No adverse events were reported during the phase-III clinical trials and PMS. It is suggested that the medical practitioner ascertain the hypersensitivity status of the subject, by doing a patch test.
